Sustainable Industry Classification System (SICS)

In many industries much of the market capitalisation depends on intangibles such as intelectual capital,customer relationship, brand value,and other forms of capital like environmental,social and human.

Sustainability industry classification system refers to a system used to categorize companies based on their sustainability performance. This system helps investors and consumers to understand a company's commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors and assess its overall sustainability impact. Some popular sustainability industry classification systems include the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Disclosure Database, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), and the MSCI World ESG Index. These systems use various metrics and criteria to assess a company's ESG performance and provide an industry benchmark for sustainability.

Sustainable Industry classification system (SICS) builds on and compliments traditional classification systems by grouping companies into sectors and Industries in line with a fundamental view of their business model,resource intensity and sustainability impacts, and their sustainability innovation potential.
